I've been babysitting since I was 12, I had a steady babysitting job with the same family all through high school including the summers, I was a nanny for a 2 year old girl last year, I've been a camp counselor, outdoor lab leader, middle school youth leader, I teach handicap skiing with Children's Hospital, and I've helped in the church nursery.

Describe your childcare style:

My childcare style is based on having fun, learning new things whenever possible, learning to respect others and knowing right from wrong. Once I get to know the kids I can judge what kinds of activities to do with them and what new things we can do. As much as I like to have fun and be adventurous, I also know when it's time to be serious. The main thing is I want the kids to be able to trust me so we can really connect.

What activities do you like to do with children:

I like to take them to the park, museum, zoo, swimming, play board games, do crafts, bake and read.

Why are you interested in working as a nanny?

Pretty much the only jobs I've had so far, that I've really enjoyed, have been working with kids. I love kids of all ages and I like to think that I can play a role in helping them develop and learn new things, whether it be academically or just for fun.

What qualities are important in a nanny?

Honesty, a good role model, a sense of adventure and creativity, patience, leadership, and a love for children.
