The nanny has the following experience:

I have been a summer nanny since I was 13 years old. I worked with two different families through school- one family with a boy and girl, a year apart, ages 3 and 4. I was with this family for three years. The second family had twins, 6 months, and an older sister, 4 years old. I was active in practicing sign language with the toddler twins. I was with this family for two years. After college, I worked in a daycare center primarily with children ages 2 months to 2 years. For the past 5 years I have worked with a family with two boys, and have seen the boys grow from infants to little boys. I also have worked with numerous other families here and there.

Describe your childcare style:

Nurturing, patient, fun, creative, positive with firm and clear boundaries for appropriate and safe behavior. Children should be allowed to explore and learn for themselves with guidance. I also strive for a balance between stimulating the brain versus the body in the activities I suggest to children.

What activities do you like to do with children:

I like to read, walk, bike, go to the park, have picnics, do arts and crafts, cook, go to the movies, to the library, museums, and theme parks. I also look for seasonal activities in-town that could be of interest to the children.

Why are you interested in working as a nanny?

I feel like I am good with children and children seem to like me. I want to provide a service that is healthy and a positive influence for children.

What qualities are important in a nanny?

Nurturing, patient, fun, creative, positive with clear boundaries. Maturity, reliability and communication with the parents is essential to create a seamless switch in care-taking of the children.
