I have worked with children for 12 years. In addition to babysitting, I have given horseback riding lessons and have worked at numerous summer camps helping children learn about horses in Oregon and Colorado. I have worked with Nannies of the Rockies for approx. 4 years as a full time nanny.

I have been a lifeguard and know water safety. I am current on First Aid and Child/Adult CPR. I also have letters of recommendation from previous child care employers and others professionals whom I work with, including children's teachers.

Describe your childcare style:

I believe children need firm guidelines which are implemented with love and patience. I am alert and yet fun loving and am able to handle situations in an appropriate manner. I realize that every family is different and I try my best to mold my style with that of the family's.

What activities do you like to do with children:

I love to do activities with children. Some of my favorites include horseback riding, camping, fishing, hiking, going to museums, going to the movies, ice skating, bowling, miniature golf, going to the park, going to Elitch Gardens and other theme parks, making things in the kitchen, arts and crafts etc.

Why are you interested in working as a nanny?

I love being around children. Both my parents are teachers and they instilled in me an appreciation for children and learning/teaching. While I don't want to be a teacher I am passionate about mentoring and helping children.

What qualities are important in a nanny?

Nurture, firmness, kindness, flexibility, love, generosity, interest in the child, reliability, honesty, tact and discernment.
